General manager Brandon Beane’s scouting principles

Following Brandon Beane’s hiring on May 9th, 2017, Buffalo Bills fans were rightly curious about the scouting and draft tendencies of the former Carolina Panthers assistant general manager. They knew that Carolina had a successful group of drafted players during Beane’s time with the organization, but considering he didn’t have a scouting background and wasn’t the one making the ultimate decisions made it very difficult for observers to guess how he might draft in his new role with the Bills. Following his second draft as general manager of the Buffalo Bills, the ways Beane goes about scouting college prospects—valuing them and projecting them into the NFL—is starting to come into focus. After April’s draft, Beane highlighted a few core principals to that effect.
